Staff
As an organisation, SSY are committed in being service user focused and needs led. We thrive in ensuring that all individuals who are supported by us have a positive and lasting experience.
SSY staff have an extensive background of working with young people, vulnerable adults, domestic abuse victims and new mothers. Staff have full knowledge and awareness of individuals planning and are focused in delivering the appropriate support that has been identified.
SSY staff are a group of dedicated individuals who have a vast amount of expertise and experience in working positively alongside adults from a vast array of backgrounds. All staff working at SSY have a current and up to date DBS and are actively encouraged with their professional development. SSY provide staff with competent training in a variety of specialised areas such as workshops on exploitation, sexual exploitation, trafficking, gang/weapon affiliation, substance misuse, domestic abuse and general family support as well as ensuring that each individual is able to identify safeguarding issues and provide effective mentoring.
All key staff poses a minimum NVQ level 3
Manager: HCPC registration. Qualified social worker of 12 years with extensive experience as a family support worker, social worker and front-line team manager. Having worked for a number of Local Authorities, the manager has a wealth of experience in working with and empowering people in ensuring their needs are met and any plans they have, are adhered to. The manager has extensive experience in multi-agency working and full knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures.
Deputy Manager: HCPC registration. Qualified social worker with 6 years post qualification experience in all aspects of SW with children and families. Full understanding on the various Children and young people Acts and a full understanding of individual person’s needs and care plans.
Senior Support Worker 1; holds a NVQ Level 3 in support work. Has been a residential support worker for over 6 years and has extensive experience in working with young people and adults. Has worked alongside various professionals and has attended various professionals’ meetings. Has a full understanding of young people/adults needs and goes that extra mile in ensuring that service users have a positive experience whilst empowering and supporting them to live independently.
Senior Support Worker 2; NVQ L3 care and support services. Practiced as a residential support worker for 3 years and has extensive experience in working with young people and adults. Very popular amongst service users and possesses excellent skills which enables the worker to engage individuals in support services. A very honest and dedicated individual who works hard and is self-motivated in working with individuals. Works well with others in a team environment and thrives on new challenges set.
Support workers; Minimum of working towards NVQ level 3 in health and social care/residential childcare and minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with vulnerable people.
